There are a number of ponds on Wimbledon Common and sadly NONE of them are opening to fishing. Most of the ponds on the common are very shallow and can dry up completely during a dry summer so they contain no fish in them. The largest pond on the common is Kingsmere pond (situated near the A3) does contain fish, but it is very silted and shallow so the size and number of fish in here is relatively low. The deepest lake on the Common is Queensmere and this pond does contain fish. Carp can be seen on the surface and there are tales of decent pike being taken here many years back. This would suggest there is a suitable stock of silver fish. Currently there are no plans to allow fishing on Wimbledon Common lakes or to improve the lakes for holding fish.
