  19. Splendid little video!! I carved some pike plugs out of an old broom handle, they came out really well, I painted them up and kept them as ornaments, they're on the living room wall, held up with blue tack, id be devastated if I lost one, but it must be a good buzz catching a fish with a home made lure!

  21. using lego for the mold was a great idea. wayyy easier than making one out of wood every time you need a different size.

  22. Hello Paul, thanks for the video! I have a question about the resistance of the lure as in how much can you strech them, and some advice on how to deal with it being full of micro air bubbles. Thanks!

    • The Handmade Fisherman

normally they are very stretchy with the soft plastic i use which is the soft version as it come in different grades. I tend to get small bubbles when i remelt soft plastics to use and they can be a pain in the arse get rid of. If i have melted the soft plastic and it still has bubbles i leave it about thirty seconds and give it short blasts like 20 seconds at half power in the microwave, sometimes it takes a few goes to get rid them. Sometimes if the mould are cold they may have condensation in them which will create bubbles when the plastic goes in, so I normally have to give it a couple shots to get the mould up to temperature.

    • Thanks! That was indeed the case, I remelted it. I did it before without problems, so I did not understand why it was different this time. I'll try those tips and see what happens, Thanks again Paul.

  23. Your tutorial is very thorough. Thank you so much for your time to share your knowledge as I will give this a go. If I am successful at it and catch a fish, I'll be certain to post for you. Give me a few months … in the process of purchasing a home in another state.

  24. Great video again. Thank you. Is the green one at the end colored by airbrush or how did you get the stripes in it? Thanks

  36. Absolutely brilliant. Well done.

  38. your video help me a great deal thank you

  39. exelent!!!!!!!!!! en argentina lo usamos para pesca de hopplias!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. I know it's too late but
why didn't you do a wood sample and use it instead of clay?

  41. Very very complex👌🏾

  42. Nice video, I like the way you made it. But here is an Idea for you when you add your colors to the liquid PVC why not use a color that glows in the dark. so you kill two birds with one stone. not only do you make your lure to use but it can also be used at night with a little flashlight to charge the glow and attract even more fish. Glow in the dark lures. If it works, I want a finder's fee for the Idea. Not for the lure idea but the glow in the dark addition to your idea. They are making a lot of lures that have LED technology, why not upgrade your idea, and market it for a mad profit and we both retire.

  43. Very well done, but i have a question:
Why not just mold the shape directly in clay? What is the woodwork, and the foilnet part good for -Are they a must? You are obviously very good at woodwork, but a clay model would be much more simple to shape, at least to me :´)

  44. it works with plastisol for ink Serigraphy ? is the same ?

  45. This was the best 14:50 I've ever spent watching on YT. Your craftsmanship, artistry, and education lured me in… no pun intended, well maybe just a bit. Thank you for this. I now have a new project to fuck up!

  46. idk why but this was so satisfying

  47. why not use sturing paddles out of wood less work

  48. What a waste of time creating the master. You should've gotten some oven bake clay, rolled it between your palms to get the general shape, bake it, then sanded it to shape. The popsicle sticks, mesh, and all of the steps before and after are really unnecessary.

  49. Anthony Iskandar

I always whatching your video sire,,I'll subscribe your video that I like

  50. Who tf uses a bobber with a lure

    • The Handmade Fisherman

I do, for winter pike when they do not want to move you can jig it up and down in their face till they get pissed of and bite it

  65. I have a couple questions, first what brand and hardness of plastisol is best for saltwater?…second, here in th US it's very common for them to add salt and scents to baits for bass…thoughts on this for saltwater?

  66. Powered by R/C / eflb150

    Finally centimeters! Something I understand!

  67. Mark KIDCOCHIESE Garry

What an awesome video  well done !!

  71. leyteris klimentidis

    Terrific job man.

  72. I want to carve/make my own lures. Is this a good deal or should I pass?

  73. So what's the purpose of creating a meticulous chamfer and bevel early in the process? Screen was placed over it which hid any evidence that it was even done.

    • The Handmade Fisherman

that is not my idea of meticulous but it does effect the way the mes bends over it, if i was doing this now i would probably lose the inner wood and mesh and try shaping just out of clay or another material this was a bit ott but it does make it easy to get an accurate shape

  74. How do you get the clours

  75. awesome! I was thinking why there's a real-life green fish 😀

  76. That is some great lure making and good detailed tutorial, paired with the most monotonous narrating you could imagine 🙂
Thanks for awesome videos though, gonna give that a try myself!

  77. why?i don't know what stores fishing you have there, but here with 5 euros i take 15 ready silicon fish baits!so i am thinking why someone must do all that???oops i found it…just to earn some money from the videooooo….GOOD JOB MY FRIEND!!

  78. For people who cant get the metal mesh or want to save money, masking tape works well. Polymer clay will stick to it.
Great tutorial, my only problem is that where I live buying the silicone and pvc would cost way more than just buying lures. Might try some carved ones though!

  79. Nice video

  80. Awesome video but I’ll stick with Walmart baits
