Quick Fly Casting Tip | TAFishing

Graeme is back with this short instructional video showing you how to maintain your fly line to help you cast further. By using simple wax polish on your fly line, it can be smoother when going through the rod rings on the cast. This can help to make your cast more efficient. Graeme also gives you a little tip at the end about using a piece of fluff on the end of your line to imitate a fly. Check out more fly fishing videos below:

  1. hi Graeme I really like your videos and I have been inspired to start making my own videos. I am thinking of buying the Shakespeare 12ft sigma supra beachcaster, please could you let me know if you think it is a good rod or not , cheers adam

REALLY GOOD IDEAS…. I DO USE THE ONE FOR CASTING SIMULATING A FLY BUT NOT THE WAX…WILL TRY THAT…THANKS!!!!

  3. Thanks Greame. I recently looked at the price of fly line and needed a lye down. You definitely need to look after it! Could you tell me what would be best to get me started ? someone said wf6 whatever that is. Obviously I've got to get it right at those prices. I will be using it in salt water. Cheers ?

  4. cutting a groove isn't much of a problem with the modern rod, but cleaning your line with warm water and some soap is always a good idea :) Store in the fridge when it's off season!

  5. Some Totally awesome tips there Graham, many thanks and may your line always be tight. 🎣

  6. Mr P many thanks.

  7. Anyone else having problems with the links in the description? I'm using firefox and they are cut off to early.

  8. Brilliant,once again

  9. Hi Graeme – I highly recommend armorall protectant from Halfords for cleaning most types of fly lines.

  10. can you use this for floating line? I got my fly line about 8 months ago and its already all cracked so it starts to sink within the first hour or two of fishing, really annoying when your trying to get a good drift past a big trout in the stream and the flies keep getting pulled under by the fly line

  11. I really want to do fly fishing but soon I'm doing cod fishing

  12. Hello Graeme, tar very much for another top video. Time to get the fly rod out and have a bash. Happy fishing J

  15. what is the best rod mack

  16. Kathy Mcloughlin

pleas respond what is in the oil

  17. Some of my best cast's where breaks.

  18. Hmmm. I think it's a bit uncool to use chemicals with signs that says that it is poisonous to fish and the environment. A dead tree and a dead fish on that orange hazard sign would deterr anyone conscious of the environment. There are other things to use, for example low viscose non toxic silicone liquid. I use baby soap-bar shavings diluted in water since washing up liquid dries the fly line out. Fairy liquid is one of the more toxic chemicals in peoples homes. How many reads the small text that says that it has long term toxic effects on water living organisms. Think on that.
